Location of clinics
The London Hand and Wrist Unit opened as the Wellington Hospital Hand Unit in 1995 and expanded in January 2006 to multiple sites within the HCA Hospitals group.
Hand therapists and hand surgeons are available at the Wellington Hospital, London Bridge Treatment and Diagnostic Centre, the Lister Hospital and the Portland Hospital. Some of the hand surgeons work exclusively at one site, whereas others are available at multiple sites. Out patient appointments and surgery are available in each location. Please call 020 7483 5090 with any enquiries or to make appointments at any of the sites.
It is also possible for you to have your surgery on one site and then have your follow up with the therapist in another. It may be possible to see the same therapist despite being in a different location. There is some equipment and are some facilities at the Wellington Hospital for the assessment and treatment of the hand which are not available at the other sites. The hand therapist will inform you if this needs to be considered in your case.
As the department is patient focused, appointments are available on multiple sites and from 8 am to 6.30 pm. This should help you schedule your appointments to fit your busy work and home commitments.
