Team structure

The team at the London Hand and Wrist Unit includes a manager (who is a hand therapist), a senior administrator, receptionist, eight further hand therapists and sixteen hand and wrist surgeons.

The team includes all four specialities of plastic surgery, orthopaedics, occupational therapy and physiotherapy in order to ensure the patient receives treatment from the most appropriate professional. This also provides patients with access to many different consultants and therapists bringing different experience and expertise from within the field. Patients can therefore be assured that they will have contact with the right health professional that will have a sub specialisation (providing knowledge and experience) matching their specific needs.

The London Hand and Wrist Unit employs occupational therapists and physiotherapists at Senior I or clinical specialist level. These are the top clinical grades. All these therapists are experienced in the assessment and treatment of upper limb disorders.
